Nurse well-being: A concept analysis
The World Health Organization (WHO) reported 386,548,962 confirmed COVID-19 cases globally as of early February, 2022, with a total of 5,705,754 deaths (World Health Organization 2022). This global pandemic, that at the time of this writing is in its fourth and most exorbitant surge, has exacted unprecedented stress on the global healthcare system and the workforce supporting these systems. Berlin et al. (2021) surveyed US nurses finding as many as 2 2% of respondents plan to leave direct patient care positions in the next year due to both physical and psychological strain.
