Ethical implications of the high cost of medical student visiting dermatology rotations

To the Editor: Visiting medical students rotate within our department affording them and us the opportunity to evaluate whether they are a “good fit” for our residency program. Visiting rotations (VRs) are an integral part of medical school curricula and dermatology application processes. These rotators clearly have an advantage over those who do not spend a month with us as they are afforded the opportunity to get to know faculty and work with them on various projects.
