Determination of the missrreporting of energy intake by Goldberg and Black in the FACSA cohort. Pilot study.
CONCLUSIONS: it is crucial to carry out this methodology to verify the results of dietary evaluation since underreporting affects the estimation of nutrient intake and can alter the associations between diet and diseases in epidemiological studies.PMID:38666328 | DOI:10.20960/nh.04822 (Source: Nutricion Hospitalaria)

Agreements between GLIM using left calf circumference as criterion for reduced muscle mass and PG-SGA, and GLIM using ASMI for the diagnosis of malnutrition in gastric cancer patients
CONCLUSION: the agreements were both acceptable between GLIM using left CC and PG-SGA, and GLIM using ASMI. Left calf circumference can be one of the credible references indicating a reduced muscle mass in patients with gastric cancer.PMID:38666329 | DOI:10.20960/nh.05024 (Source: Nutricion Hospitalaria)

Relationship between food insecurity and malnutrition in schoolchildren from low- and middle-income countries: a systematic review
The objective of this review is to study the relationship between food insecurity (FI) and malnutrition in schoolchildren from low-and middle-income countries (LMIC). The review was conducted using the databases PubMed, MEDLINE, CENTRAL, LILACS and SCiELO during the months of March to April 2022 without language or publication date restrictions. The search strategy consisted of combinations of text words and controlled vocabulary (MeSH terms and DeCS) related to "schoolchildren", "low- and middle-income countries" and "food insecurity". Fifteen studies were included in this review. Studies assessing FI and undernutrition i...

Impact of memory bias in the dietary estimation of older adults measured through a food frequency questionnaire and weighed food records: A cross-sectional study in older adults and primary caregivers
CONCLUSION: the high correlation and high agreement between the amounts and frequencies of the food groups consumed as reported by the older adults and primary caregivers indicate that the information from both respondents is reliable.PMID:38666333 | DOI:10.20960/nh.04858 (Source: Nutricion Hospitalaria)

Causal effect of sarcopenia-related traits on the occurrence and prognosis of breast cancer - A bidirectional and multivariable Mendelian randomization study
CONCLUSIONS: several sarcopenia-related traits were genetically associated with the occurrence and prognosis of breast cancer. It is crucial for elderly women to increase their strength and muscle mass to help prevent breast cancer.PMID:38666335 | DOI:10.20960/nh.05139 (Source: Nutricion Hospitalaria)

Can caffeine improve your performance? Psychophysiological effects - A systematic review
In conclusion, moderate doses of caffeine 3-6 mg/kg seem to be an effective strategy to improve the psychophysiological response in various contexts without generating detrimental effects on performance, as long as the intervention designs consider the variables that could condition its effect.PMID:38666339 | DOI:10.20960/nh.04820 (Source: Nutricion Hospitalaria)

Nutritional status and its relationship with COVID-19 prognosis in hemodialysis patients
CONCLUSIONS: higher body mass index and higher body fat content, along with lower baseline levels of triglycerides and ferritin, are significantly associated with higher COVID-19 mortality in patients on chronic hemodialysis. These findings suggest that the initial nutritional status of these patients can significantly influence the prognosis of SARSCoV-2 infection.PMID:38666342 | DOI:10.20960/nh.04850 (Source: Nutricion Hospitalaria)

Association between the dietary inflammatory index and pelvic inflammatory disease - Findings from the NHANES data (2015-2018)
CONCLUSIONS: This study unravels a significant positive correlation between DII and the risk for PID. This finding highlights the potential of anti-inflammatory diet therapy as a novel therapeutic intervention for PID. However, due to the limitations of the study design, further research is needed to explore this relationship in detail.PMID:38666343 | DOI:10.20960/nh.04975 (Source: Nutricion Hospitalaria)

Association of diet quality and body mass index in Mexican adults: a pseudo-panel analysis
CONCLUSIONS: these results contribute to the evidence in the longitudinal analysis between diet and BMI, highlighting the importance of differentiating the population by sex and sociodemographic characteristics. These results are input for public policy creation that promotes improving the quality of the population's diet as part of multisectoral strategies to reduce overweight and obesity in Mexican adults.PMID:38666345 | DOI:10.20960/nh.04974 (Source: Nutricion Hospitalaria)
