nasal polyps and deviated septum
I just went to the ENT Dr. on Monday because I've been having obvious signs of polyps. I can't breathe from my nose at all. It sounds like I have a cold because the polyps are blocking my airway. I've had polyps removed at least 3 or 4 times in the past 6 years. Dr. has mentioned they will always grow back even after removed. Just a matter of WHEN. Mine grow back about every one and a half to two years but this time they came back within only a year. I had surgery around this time last year. Dr. said he has the ability to remove polyps in his office but he couldn't do it with me because my nose is too narrow. He said becau...

R117h
My son is almost 3 and was found to have the mutant R117H 7t/9t in his newborn screen (kansas does the most common 40). We did a sweat test at 3-4wks old and it was negative. Since then we have struggled acid reflux as a baby and ongoing diarrhea. And frequently episodes of croup as well as him throwing up mucus. He snores as an infant. I do feel like he tastes salty now. At least compared to his sister's. After reading up on this particular mutation I wasn't sure if it would be worth pushing for full DNA testing to see if he has a rarer gene. just a question
my 15 daughter developed a nasal obstruction, had septoplasty and the doctor reported that my daughter had the worst adhesions he had ever seen. Within 2 months the adhesions were back, she developed a saddle nose, and she was snoring again. The lining of her nose is lined with sores and bleeds everyday, and she coughs all of the time. My daughter was sent to a Rhinologist who took one look at the lining, said it was allergies and she needed reconstruction. We were sent down the hall to plastics where the doctor took one look at her nose and said that he felt like she had a vasculitis called Wegeners Granulomatosis. She...

Undetected signs and symptoms of early ischaemic heart disease?
I have recently had two cardiac stents placed. I had no angina symptoms and no sob. I went to the gym twice weekly and kept very active on other days. I believed I was asymptomatic. However on my return home from the procedure my wife noted my colour had improved. I no longer snore, energy is much better, concentration and even memory appear to be improving. I do not feel the cold as I did previously. These were all symptoms I attributed to age - I am 55 yr. I cannot find anything in the literature on what I now believe are subtle signs of ihd. I believe that many patients are likely to have similar symptoms and that gen...
