Child abuse is related to inflammation in mid-life women: Role of obesity.
CONCLUSION: A history of childhood abuse and neglect retrospectively reported is related to overall elevated inflammation in mid-life women, perhaps through obesity. A history of some types of abuse and neglect (emotional) may be related to change in inflammation, independent of simultaneously measured change in BMI. A Post-Hoc Assessment of Current Hormone Therapy on Revascularization Risk in Women: The Carotid Revascularization Endarterectomy Versus Stenting Trial (CREST) (P03.168)
CONCLUSIONS: We found that women on current HRT have lower periprocedural risk associated with CAS or CEA than non-users, but little difference in risk after the procedural period. The mechanism for this unexpected finding is elusive.
