Early outcomes of transcatheter mitral valve replacement with the Tendyne system in severe mitral annular calcification
CONCLUSIONS: In patients with MR and severe MAC, TMVR with the Tendyne valve was associated with encouraging acute outcomes, midterm durability, and clinical improvement. Dedicated TMVR therapy may have a future role in these anatomically challenging, high-risk patients.PMID:34918624 | DOI:10.4244/EIJ-D-21-00745

Percutaneous versus surgical transaxillary access for transcatheter aortic valve replacement: a propensity-matched analysis of the US experience
CONCLUSIONS: This study supports the safety and efficacy of percutaneous TAx TAVR compared to traditional surgical cutdown. Percutaneous access was associated with shorter ICU stay and a higher rate of major vascular complication without an increase in life-threatening bleeding.PMID:34794935 | DOI:10.4244/EIJ-D-21-00549

Valve-in-valve transcatheter aortic valve implantation versus repeat surgical aortic valve replacement in patients with a failed aortic bioprosthesis
CONCLUSIONS: ViV TAVI was associated with lower in-hospital mortality but higher 30-day and 6-month all-cause readmission. However, there was no difference in risk of in-hospital stroke, post-procedure pacemaker implantation, MACE, and mortality during 30-day and 6-month readmission compared with repeat SAVR, suggesting that ViV TAVI can be performed safely in carefully selected patients.PMID:34521614 | DOI:10.4244/EIJ-D-21-00472

Transcatheter Reshaping of the Mitral Annulus in Patients with Functional Mitral Regurgitation: One-year Outcomes of the MAVERIC Trial.
CONCLUSION: The ARTO™ transcatheter mitral valve repair system is both safe and effective in decreasing FMR up to one-year post-procedure. PMID: 32718911 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Clinical Outcomes of TAVI or SAVR in Men and Women with Aortic Stenosis at Intermediate Operative Risk: a post hoc analysis of the randomized SURTAVI trial.
CONCLUSIONS: Aortic valve replacement, either by surgical or transcatheter approach, appears similarly effective and safe for males and females at intermediate surgical risk. Functional status appears to improve most in females after TAVI. PMID: 32715995 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Outcomes of Valve-In-Valve Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement in Patients with Failed Bioprosthetic Aortic Valves: Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Observational Evidence.
CONCLUSIONS: VIV-TAVR appears to be associated with high procedural success rates and low adverse outcomes during the short and mid-term follow-up period. PMID: 32420881 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
