Respiratory Sleep Disorders Among 37 Patients With Laryngeal Dysfunction
Conclusion: Sleep disordered breathing (Sleep Apnea Syndrome and hypoventilation) are common in our group of non-obese patients with laryngeal dysfunction. Thyroidectomy was the main etiology, before neurological (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, post-stroke) and traumatic causes. These results suggest the importance of systematic screening for sleep disordered breathing in this category of patients.
