Diagnostic accuracy of stroke volume variation for predicting fluid responsiveness in children undergoing cardiac surgery: a systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: There was some heterogeneity due to thresholds in the included studies. An evaluation of SVV may represent a reliable predictor of FR in children undergoing cardiac surgery. After operative cardiac output optimization, the possible impact of goal-directed fluid treatment depending on SVV on the perioperative outcome in the children population should subsequently be assessed.PMID:33882623 | DOI:10.1111/pan.14195

Anesthetic Management for Endovascular Treatment of Stroke in Patients With Coronavirus Disease 2019: A Case Series
A significant number of patients with coronavirus disease 2019 develop strokes with large vessel obstructions that may require endovascular treatment for revascularization. Our series focuses on periprocedural issues and the anesthetic management of these patients. We analyzed medical records of 5 patients with positive reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction tests for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 during their hospitalization who underwent endovascular treatment at our hospital between March and mid-June 2020. We found that our patients were different from the typical patients with ischemic strok...

Comparative evaluation of stroke volume variation and inferior vena cava distensibility index for prediction of fluid responsiveness in mechanically ventilated patients
CONCLUSION: This study ascertains the positive correlation between dIVC and SVV and justifies its use in a clinical setting of hypotension suspected to be due to hypovolemia.PMID:34269263 | DOI:10.4103/aca.ACA_113_20
