Participation in leisure activities after stroke: A survey of community-residing stroke survivors in Nigeria.
CONCLUSIONS: Leisure participation was high in a general sense but marginal in recreational and productive/creative activities. The observed socio-demographic and clinical associations with post-stroke leisure participation may assist in providing effective leisure rehabilitation strategies. The role of rehabilitation psychology in stroke care described through case examples.
CONCLUSION: Given the abrupt and significant life-changing nature of stroke, it is often necessary to manage a diverse array of psychological issues that often cannot be simply managed via psychotropic medications. Moreover, an understanding of the patients' emotional adjustment and issues can help them maximize their rehabilitation, recovery, and community integration. Prevalence and association of visual functional deficits with lesion characteristics and functional neurological deficits in patients with stroke.
CONCLUSIONS: Detailed assessment of visual function in patients with stroke can help to clarify the risk of various types of visual impairment. Moreover, as visual function assessment in patients with stroke is difficult, knowledge of the correlation of visual impairments with different neurological dysfunctions observed in stroke and lesion side will help predict vision problems and inform optimal corrective measures in treating patients with stroke. Training in positivity for stroke? A qualitative study of acceptability of use of Positive Mental Training (PosMT) as a tool to assist stroke survivors with post-stroke psychological problems and in coping with rehabilitation.

Moving stroke rehabilitation forward: The need to change research.
CONCLUSIONS: There is an urgent need for high-quality, explanatory trials in the first three months post stroke. These trials should preferably stratify patients based on their initial potential for reactive neurobiological recovery, measure recovery repeatedly at fixed times post stroke, and differentiate in their outcomes between behavioural restitution and compensation of functions. An interdisciplinary visual team in an acute and sub-acute stroke unit: Providing assessment and early rehabilitation.
CONCLUSION: In this consecutive sample, a quarter of all stroke patients had visual or visuo-attentional deficits initially. This emphasizes how professionals should have increased awareness of the existence of such deficits after stroke in order to provide the necessary interdisciplinary assessment and rehabilitation. A double-blinded randomised controlled trial exploring the effect of anodal transcranial direct current stimulation and uni-lateral robot therapy for the impaired upper limb in sub-acute and chronic stroke.

Effects on facial dysfunction and swallowing capacity of intraoral stimulation early and late after stroke.
CONCLUSIONS: Treatment with intraoral stimulation significantly improved post-stroke dysfunction in all four facial quadrants, swallowing capacity, and lip force even in cases of long-standing post-stroke dysfunction. Time configuration of combined neuromodulation and motor training after stroke: A proof-of-concept study.
CONCLUSION: In cases of moderate-to-severe impairment after stroke, transcranial direct current stimulation at the start, rather than the end, of peripheral nerve stimulation prior to motor training may effect better functional outcomes. Evaluation of gait symmetry using a tri-axial accelerometer in stroke patients.

Factors related to interrupted inpatient stroke rehabilitation due to acute care transfer or death.
CONCLUSION: Feeding tube, anemia and old age were identified as independent predictors of interrupted stroke rehabilitation due to acute care transfer or death. Interventions to reduce severe complications should be implemented in order to prevent interruption of rehabilitation process and to reduce the patient transfer rate.
