Cerebrovascular Events in 20 ‐years of Follow‐Up after Liver Transplantation. An Underestimated Issue?
ConclusionLT recipients seem to have a considerably increased risk of CBVE. Long‐term surveillance should take this into account and screening may be extended accordingly. The progressive impairment of renal function in the long‐term LT survivors may be one reason for the underestimation of CBVE in this patient group. This article is protected by copyright. Patent Foramen Ovale Repair at the Time of Double Lung Transplantation: Necessary or Not?
ConclusionsThe protective effect of PFO repair remains unclear. However, is not associated with an increased incidence of stroke or postoperative mortality following LTx. This suggests that repair of PFO, with its inherent increase in surgical complexity, is not required and outcomes are acceptable. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation: Experience In Acute Graft Failure After Heart Transplantation
ConclusionTemporary ECMO support for postoperative output failure is an acceptable option as a last resort for otherwise doomed patients with fatal graft failure after HTx. The small fraction of patients surviving, appear to have a decent long‐term prognosis. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

The Policy of Placing Older Donors into Older Recipients: Is it Worth the Risk?
ConclusionsUse of older donors (50yrs) in older recipients (60yrs) results in lower 5‐yr survival and freedom from CAV. Caution is required in these cases. Larger studies are warranted to confirm findings. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

Prolonged Corrected QT Interval in the Donor Heart: Is There a Risk?
ConclusionQTc > 500 msec in the donor heart appears to be an independent risk factor for the development of early CAV after heart transplantation possibly due to a higher immunological risk. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

Multivisceral Transplant is a Viable Treatment Option for Patients with Nonresectable Intraabdominal Fibromatosis
ConclusionsMVT is a viable option for patients who have nonresectable intraabdominal fibromatosis with promising surviving rates, although recurrence still occurs. Surgical margin, Ki67 proliferative index, β‐catenin, and p53 expression are not predicative for recurrence of fibromatosis. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
