Effects of Smoking on Long-Term Clinical Outcomes and Lung Cancer in Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction
CONCLUSIONS: In contrast to the unadjusted model, smoking is associated with worse cardiovascular outcome and higher incidence of lung cancer after adjustment of various confounding factors. This result can be explained by the characteristics of smokers, which were young and had fewer comorbidities.PMID:33821583 | PMC:PMC8022024 | DOI:10.4070/kcj.2020.0430

Peri-procedural variables and outcomes of long-period hemodynamic instability after carotid artery angioplasty and stenting
CONCLUSIONS: CAS-induced HI occurs in a considerable percentage while several peri-procedural variables are determined as independent predictors to develop long-period HI. Patients with prolonged HI are associated with increased risk of neurologic events and thus standardized intervention as well as management of long-period HI are of critical importance during clinical process.PMID:35466838 | DOI:10.1177/17085381221091369

E-153 Transfemoral flow-reversal using walrus balloon-guide catheter for carotid artery stenting technical description and single-center experience
ConclusionsIn our institution’s experience, this technique was safe, feasible and efficient, with 100% technical success and no periprocedural thromboembolic complications. More extensive studies are needed to establish the role of proximal protection with flow-reversal using modern BGCs.Disclosures J. Cappuzzo: None. A. Monteiro: None. M. Waqas: None. A. Baig: None. D.
