Incidence and Risk Factors of Future Need for Long-Term Care Insurance in Japanese Elderly Patients With Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction
CONCLUSIONS: In elderly patients with LV systolic dysfunction, the incidence of LTCI requirement was more common than that for community-dwelling people; its risk factors did not include LVEF, but included many other non-cardiac comorbidities and therapies, suggesting the need for interdisciplinary cooperation to prevent disabilities.PMID:34789610 | DOI:10.1253/circj.CJ-21-0580

Effectiveness and Safety of Rivaroxaban by General Practitioners - A Multicenter, Prospective Study in Japanese Patients With Non-Valvular Atrial Fibrillation (GENERAL)

Frailty and the Effect of Catheter Ablation in the Elderly Population With Atrial Fibrillation - A Real-World Analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Ablation may be associated with a lower risk of death and composite outcome in non-frail elderly, but the beneficial effect of ablation was not significant in frail elderly patients with AF. Prevalence and Associated Stroke Risk of Human Immunodeficiency Virus-Infected Patients With Atrial Fibrillation - A Nationwide Cohort Study.
CONCLUSIONS: The risks of ischemic stroke/SE and major bleeding were significantly higher in HIV-infected patients compared with non-HIV-infected patients with AF. Despite this, the actual use of OACs among AF patients with HIV was suboptimal.

Development of Quality Indicators of Stroke Centers and Feasibility of Their Measurement Using a Nationwide Insurance Claims Database in Japan - J-ASPECT Study.
CONCLUSIONS: We developed QIs for primary and comprehensive stroke care. The DPC database may allow efficient data collection at low cost and decreased burden to evaluate the developed QIs.

Long-Term Clinical Outcome of Drug-Eluting vs. Bare-Metal Stent Implantation After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in End-Stage Renal Disease Patients on Hemodialysis - Nationwide Cohort Study in Taiwan.
CONCLUSIONS: In patients on chronic hemodialysis, implantation of DES did not have a better clinical outcome than BMS.
