E-055 Internal carotid artery reconstruction with flow diverting stents in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke: technical considerations and medical management
ConclusionsFDS appear to be a safe and effective tool for reconstruction of a symptomatic dissection in tortuous cervical ICAs. Their flexibility allows conformation to complex anatomies and they can be traversed multiple times by aspiration catheters/stentrievers. We found excellent patency at follow up. UC lands largest grant ever for emergency medicine
The University of Cincinnati has been awarded a $29 million grant to study a clot-busting drug used to treat acute ischemic stroke, the largest amount ever awarded to the College of Medicine ’s Department of Emergency Medicine.
