Decrease in intravenous thrombolysis and poor short-term functional prognosis for acute ischemic stroke during the COVID-19 pandemic
ConclusionsThe COVID-19 pandemic caused the decrease of admissions and prolonged the time of the green channel for stroke, which led to the worse short-term prognosis of AIS patients during the pandemic. It ’s necessary to ensure an effective green channel and provide adequate medical resources during the pandemic period to reduce the damage caused by COVID-19.

Impact of the COVID-19 lockdown on the adherence of stroke patients to direct oral anticoagulants: a secondary analysis from the MAAESTRO study
ConclusionOur data suggest that a major disruption of social life (i.e., the imposed COVID-19 lockdown) is unlikely to relevantly affect the medication intake behaviour of patients with high pre-established adherence, but might have an impact in patients with previously suboptimal adherence.Trial registration numberMAAESTRO: electronic Monitoring and improvement of Adherence to direct oral Anticoagulant treatment —a randomized crossover study of an Educational and reminder-based intervention in ischaemic STROke patients under polypharmacy, NCT03344146.

Neurological involvement of coronavirus disease 2019: a systematic review
ConclusionsNeurological manifestations of COVID-19 are not rare, especially large vessel stroke, Guillain –Barre syndrome, and meningoencephalitis. Moving forward, further studies are needed to clarify the prevalence of the neurological complications of SARS-CoV-2 infection, investigate their biological backgrounds, and test treatment options. Physicians should be cautious not to overlook other neurol ogical diagnoses that can mimic COVID-19 during the pandemic.
