Risk factor profile in patients with stroke at a young age.
Conclusions Angiopathy is the most common risk factor for stroke at a young age. More than half of the patients with stroke at a young age have at least two independent risk factors for stroke. In the first two decades of life, the most frequent risk factors for stroke are heart diseases; arterial diseases play a dominant role in the consecutive three decades.
