Cilostazol may prevent cardioembolic stroke in patients undergoing antiplatelet therapy.
CONCLUSIONS: Cilostazol may prevent cardioembolic stroke in patients undergoing antiplatelet therapy. This could be a novel strategy for cardioembolic stroke prevention potentially by affecting cardiac remodelling, in contrast to secondary anticoagulant therapy. Intracranial arterial stenosis and recurrence in stroke patients with different risk stratifications by Essen stroke risk score
CONCLUSION: ICAS was an independent predictor of both 3- and 12-month stroke recurrence in low-risk but not high-risk patients with minor ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack according to ESRS stratification.PMID:37724803 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2023.2257415

No rebound effect after a course of clopidogrel in patients with acute TIA or minor stroke
CONCLUSIONS: No rebound increase in the risk of ischemic stroke and composite events was found during the 90 days after discontinuation of clopidogrel therapy in patients with TIA or minor stroke in the CHANCE trial.TRIAL REGISTRATION: clinicaltrials.gov Identifier: NCT00979589.PMID:35695332 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2022.2075660

The association between high on-treatment platelet reactivity and early recurrence of ischemic events after minor stroke or TIA.
DISCUSSION: In patients with minor stroke or TIA, the prevalence of HTPR was 22.7%, and HTPR was independently associated with recurrent ischemic events. PMID: 28398139 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Prognosis of dolichoectasia in non-cardioembolic transient ischemic attack and minor stroke.
Conclusions Dolichoectasia was significantly associated with SAO. There was no relationship between dolichoectasia and 12-month prognosis of patients with non-cardioembolic TIA or minor stroke. PMID: 29600887 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
