Application of the P300 potential in cognitive impairment assessments after transient ischemic attack or minor stroke.
Conclusions The P300 latency delay can be used to detect cognitive impairments in patients after TIA/minor stroke and the P300-Fz latency is more sensitive for diagnosing cognitiveimpairments in TIA/minor stroke patients. PMID: 33443462 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

A new physical-cognitive scale for assessment of frailty in Chinese Han elderly.
CONCLUSIONS: Our study revealed a significantly worse status in frail participants with CI than without. Our new scale shows a stronger correlation between frailty and complications than the classic phenotype. PMID: 31030646 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Elevated CRP at admission predicts post-stroke cognitive impairment in Han Chinese patients with intracranial arterial stenosis.
CONCLUSIONS: To our knowledge, this is the first study to explore the effects of CRP on PSCI in Han Chinese with ICAS. Our findings indicate that higher CRP levels at admission are associated with subsequent cognitive decline in Han Chinese patients with ICAS following ischemic stroke. Further studies in other ethnic groups are needed to validate the use of CRP to predict dementia in ICAS patients. PMID: 29451096 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Dl-3-n-butylphthalide can improve the cognitive function of patients with acute ischemic stroke: a prospective intervention study.
DISCUSSION: Dl-3-n-butylphthalide could significantly improve the cognitive function of AIS patients 1 month after stroke. Hcy was involved in the incidence of VD 1 month after AIS. However, further studies are necessary because of differences between groups at baseline. PMID: 28145815 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Protective effect of telmisartan on neurovascular unit and inflammasome in stroke-resistant spontaneously hypertensive rats.
Discussion: These results suggest that telmisartan comprehensively protected the NVU components by reducing inflammatory reactions relative to AD in hypertensive rats, which could also preclude the risk of AD under hypertension. PMID: 25591419 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
