Conclusions Adults with combinations of known risk factors are at increased risk of incident AF and stroke, but combinations of risk factors are not always additive.

Catheter Ablation of Atrial Fibrillation in U.S. Community Practice--Results From Outcomes Registry for Better Informed Treatment of Atrial Fibrillation (ORBIT-AF) Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology
Conclusions In U.S. clinical practice, a minority of patients with AF are managed with catheter ablation. Subsequent to ablation, there were no significant differences in oral anticoagulation use or outcomes, including stroke/non–central nervous system embolism/transient ischemic attack or death. Quantitative Tissue-Tracking Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) of Left Atrial Deformation and the Risk of Stroke in Patients With Atrial Fibrillation Imaging
Conclusions Depressed LA reservoir function assessed by tissue-tracking cardiac magnetic resonance is significantly associated with a prior history of stroke/transient ischemic attack in patients with AF. Our findings suggest that assessment of LA reservoir function can improve the risk stratification of cerebrovascular events in AF patients.

Alternative Calculations of Individual Patient Time in Therapeutic Range While Taking Warfarin: Results From the ROCKET AF Trial Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology
Conclusions TTR, the standard measure of control of warfarin anticoagulation, depends on imputing daily INR values for the vast majority of follow-up days. Our TTR calculation method may better reflect the impact of warfarin dose changes than the Rosendaal approach. In the ROCKET AF trial, this dose change–based approach led to a modest increase in overall mean iTTR but did not materially affect the large inter-regional differences previously reported. Prospective National Study of the Prevalence, Incidence, Management and Outcome of a Large Contemporary Cohort of Patients With Incident Non-Valvular Atrial Fibrillation Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology
Conclusions In the present study the prevalence and incidence of AF, stroke, and death were comparable to those reported in Europe and North America. The low use of anticoagulation calls for measures to increase adherence to current treatment recommendations in order to improve outcomes.

Socioeconomic Position and Incidence of Ischemic Stroke in Denmark 2003-2012. A Nationwide Hospital-Based Study Stroke
Conclusions In Denmark, there is a strong relation between low socioeconomic position and risk for hospitalization for stroke. Lifestyle, as indicated by smoking, obesity, and alcohol consumption, and diabetes appears to increase the risk for stroke in people with lower socioeconomic position.

The TeleStroke Mimic (TM)-Score: A Prediction Rule for Identifying Stroke Mimics Evaluated in a Telestroke Network Stroke
Conclusions SMs differ substantially from their iCVD counterparts in their vascular risk profiles and other characteristics. Decision-support tools based on predictive models, such as our TM Score, may help clinicians consider alternate diagnosis and potentially detect SMs during complex, time-critical telestroke evaluations.
