Single trans ‐septal access technique for left atrial intracardiac echocardiography to guide left atrial appendage closure
ConclusionsThis initial experience suggests that LAA occlusion with the Amplatzer Amulet device using ICE guidance from the left atrium via a single trans‐septal technique is feasible and safe.

Comparison of local versus general anesthesia in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement: A meta ‐analysis
ConclusionOur meta‐analysis suggests that use of LA for TAVR is associated with a lower 30‐day mortality, shorter procedure time, fluoroscopy time, ICU LOS, hospital length of stay, and reduced need for inotropic support.

Unprotected carotid artery stenting in modern practice
Conclusions: Patients selected to undergo unprotected CAS in contemporary practice have high rates of adverse pre‐procedure neurologic risk factors. Our propensity‐matched analysis did not demonstrate evidence of significant benefit or harm associated with use of distal filter EPD in elective CAS patients. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Amplatzer left atrial appendage occlusion: Single center 10‐year experience
ConclusionLAA closure may be a good alternative to oral anticoagulation. This hypothesis needs to be tested in a randomized clinical trial to ensure that all potential biases of this observational study are accounted for. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
