ConclusionMigraine, especially migraine with aura, is associated with myocardial infarction and stroke. Migraine with aura increases the risk of overall cardiovascular mortality.

Cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging and its role in the investigation of stroke: an update
AbstractRecent advances in complementary diagnostic exams have helped to clarify stroke etiology, not only by helping to confirm established stroke causes but also by unveiling new possible stroke mechanisms. Etiological investigation for cardioembolic stroke has benefited in the last years from information provided by studies analysing serum biomarkers, heart rhythm monitoring and imaging methods like cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging. CMR has been particularly important for the characterization of possible new cardioembolic stroke mechanisms including atrial cardiomyopathy, silent myocardial infarction and cardiomyopathies.

Platelet function/reactivity testing and prediction of risk of recurrent vascular events and outcomes after TIA or ischaemic stroke: systematic review and meta-analysis
DiscussionAntiplatelet –HTPR may predict risks of recurrent vascular events/outcomes in CVD patients. Given the heterogeneity between studies, further prospective, multi-centre studies are warranted.

GLP-1 receptor agonists in diabetes for stroke prevention: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionsAmong patients with type 2 DM,  GLP-1R agonists are beneficial for primary stroke, MACE, and cardiovascular mortality prevention. Further RCTs are needed to evaluate their role for secondary stroke prevention.

Genetic correlations and causal inferences in ischemic stroke
ConclusionsShared genetic overlaps might exist between ischemic stroke and physical activity, cardiometabolic factors, smoking, and lung function. We provided suggestive evidence for a potential causal role of LDL.P and LDL.C in ischemic stroke, particularly in large artery stroke. Future researches are required to confirm these findings.

Stroke in supplementary motor area mimicking functional disorder: a case report
We report a 59-year-old man with previous history for myocardial infarction, referred to emergency room with an acute dense right-side hemiplegia, positive Hoover sign, asymmetrical Babinski responses and intermittent ability to move his arm in some specific reflex actions despite plegia. Carotid endarterectomy in patients with recurrent symptoms associated with an ipsilateral carotid artery near occlusion with full collapse
ConclusionIn patients with RSNOFC, CEA may be considered a potential treatment option. Although procedural risks in this small subgroup may be higher as compared to patients with low-to-moderate risk anatomy, this risk may outbalance the natural course.

Minocycline for acute stroke treatment: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials
ConclusionsAlthough data is limited, minocycline demonstrated efficacy and seems a promising neuroprotective agent in acute stroke patients, especially  in AIS subgroup. Further RCTs are needed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of minocycline among ICH patients.

Abstract To evaluate the prevalence and risk factors of antiplatelet drug resistance and its association with early neurological deterioration (END) and recurrent ischemic stroke (RIS) in patients with acute minor stroke. Antiplatelet drug resistance was assessed by platelet aggregation assay in 426 patients with minor stroke who were receiving combined treatment of aspirin and clopidogrel.
