Inhibition of Long Noncoding RNA SNHG15 Ameliorates Hypoxia/Ischemia-Induced Neuronal Damage by Regulating miR-302a-3p/STAT1/NF- κB Axis
CONCLUSION: SNHG15 was up-regulated in the hypoxia/ischemia mouse or cell model. The inhibition of SNHG15 ameliorates ischemia/hypoxia-induced neuronal damage and microglial inflammation by regulating the miR-302a-3p/STAT1/NF-κB pathway.PMID:33779086 | PMC:PMC8007436 | DOI:10.3349/ymj.2021.62.4.325

MRI Assessment of Cerebral Small Vessel Disease in Patients with Spontaneous Intracerebral Hemorrhage.
CONCLUSION: All MRI markers for SVD were worse in ICH patients than in healthy controls, and these markers were prominent even in young ICH patients. Lacunae, WMH, EPVS, and CMB should be considered as factors related with spontaneous ICH. PMID: 31347333 [PubMed - in process]

Impact of the 2015 Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Outbreak on Emergency Care Utilization and Mortality in South Korea.
CONCLUSION: During the MERS epidemic, the number of ER visits decreased in all age, sex, and socioeconomic groups, and decreased most sharply for low-acuity diseases. Nonetheless, there was no significant change in deaths after emergency care. PMID: 31347336 [PubMed - in process]

Associations for BCO2, PCSK9, and TR1B1 Polymorphism and Lifestyle Factors with Ischemic Stroke: A Nested Case-Control Study.
CONCLUSION: Polymorphisms in BCO2 and TRIB1 and fruits/vegetables intake were associated with IS. These results provide the theoretical basis for gene screening to prevent chronic cerebrovascular diseases. PMID: 31250580 [PubMed - in process]

Antithrombotic Medication and the Risk of Vitreous Hemorrhage in Atrial Fibrillation: Korean National Health Insurance Service National Cohort.
CONCLUSION: Dual antiplatelet or triple therapy increased the risk of VH significantly, compared to warfarin monotherapy. Considering the low efficacy of preventing ischemic stroke and high risk of bleeding, dual or triple therapy using warfarin and antiplatelet agents should be avoided to prevent VH in AF patients.
