To ensure that the scientific literature is correct, the Editor chooses to publish an Expression of Concern regarding 3 observational studies and a Letter to the Editor published in Neurology prior to the retracted clinical trials.1–4

Association of parathyroid hormone with 20-year cognitive decline: The ARIC study

Assessment of Vitamin D Deficiency in Patients with Neurological Disorders (P03.271)
CONCLUSIONS: The results of the present study may have been biased by the type of the study population (hospital-based) and the small size of the sample. However, the frequent association between Vitamin D deficiency and neurologic disorders indicates that this vitamin may have a fundamental role in physiologic and pathological processes of the Nervous System, particularly in patients over 65 years of age. Vitamin D deficiency should be investigated routinely in clinical practice as the detection of this parameter may have important therapeutic implications.Disclosure: Dr. Triggiani has nothing to disclose.
