Effects of Kinesio taping for stroke patients with hemiplegic shoulder pain: A double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study.
CONCLUSION: Stroke patients with hemiplegic shoulder pain can experience greater reductions in Shoulder Pain and Disability Index, pain, and improvement in shoulder flexion, external, and internal rotation after 3 weeks of Kinesio taping intervention compared with sham Kinesio taping. Kinesio taping may be an alternative treatment option for stroke patients with hemiplegic shoulder pain. PMID: 28233009 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Skeletal muscle changes in the first three months of stroke recovery: a systematic review
CONCLUSION: Muscle strength and thickness changes during the first 3 months after stroke in both the paretic and non-paretic side. Future studies should aim to understand "how" the stroke-induced muscle strength changes are achieved. Exploring existing data from longitudinal studies, by using cluster analyses, such as pattern recognition, could add to the current knowledge-base.PMID:35848335 | DOI:10.2340/jrm.v54.573

Ultrasound Assessment of Spastic Muscles in Ambulatory Chronic Stroke Survivors Reveals Function-Dependent Changes
Conclusion: Ambulatory chronic stroke survivors had function-dependent changes in muscle thickness on the affected side. Muscle thickness and echogenicity of spastic muscles did not correlate with spasticity, Fugl-Meyer motor assessment scores, age, or time since stroke.PMID:36254740 | DOI:10.2340/jrm.v54.3199

Shoulder ultrasound imaging in the post-stroke population: a systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: Ultrasonography enabled the identification of common shoulder pathologies after stroke. Further research is needed to establish the association between these changes and the clinical course of stroke patients.PMID:37615388 | DOI:10.2340/jrm.v55.13432

Effectiveness of Ultrasound-guided VS Electrical-stimulation-guided Botulinum Toxin Injections in Triceps Surae Spasticity after Stroke: A Randomized Controlled Study
CONCLUSION: In agreement with previous research, no differences were found in the efficacy of ultrasound-guided or electrical-stimulation-guided abobotulinumtoxinA injections in triceps surae spasticity after stroke. Both techniques are of equal use in guiding muscle localization for botulinum toxin injections in spastic triceps surae.PMID:37434519 | DOI:10.2340/jrm.v55.11963
