Safety, Efficacy, and Cost-Effectiveness of Same-Day Discharge for Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion
CONCLUSIONS: Same-day discharge strategy for LAAO appears safe, feasible and could become the new standard approach for LAAO. A protocol including CTA pre-procedural planning, ICE-guided deployment and conscious sedation reduces hospital occupation and lowers costs.PMID:35100555

High stroke rate in patients with medically managed asymptomatic carotid stenosis at an academic center in the Southeastern United States
Since the publication of randomized clinical trials defining the benefit of carotid endarterectomy (CEA) for asymptomatic carotid stenosis, medical management of carotid stenosis has changed significantly. With antiplatelet agents and statins, some question whether these trials are still relevant, suggesting that asymptomatic patients with>70% internal carotid artery (ICA) stenosis may do better with medial management alone, lessening the need for CEA and carotid stenting. Management strategies of unanticipated intracranial stenosis during mechanical thrombectomy for acute stroke: A survey of academic neurointerventionalists
CONCLUSION: The approach to underlying ICAD in LVO varies widely; however, the majority of neurointerventionalists prefer medical therapy with DAPT as a first-line treatment approach.
