Left ventricular hypertrabeculation/noncompaction (LVHT) is categorized as an unclassified cardiomyopathy and is characterized by a two-layered left ventricular myocardium distal to the papillary muscles with a thicker noncompacted inner (endocardial) layer and a compacted thinner outer (pericardial) layer .
