CONCLUSION: Vertebrobasilar diseases due to atherosclerosis should be routinely considered in middle-aged and elderly patients with vascular risk factors and bilateral hearing loss. Bilateral SSNHL can be a prodrome of acute MCP infarction and it can be peripheral.
