Distance to Thrombus in Endovascular Treatment of Middle Cerebral Artery M1 Occlusion Predicts Recanalization Success and Clinical Outcome
CONCLUSION: Shorter DT was associated with higher rate of full recanalization (mTICI 3) after endovascular therapy. Having a longer DT reduces the chance of successful recanalization without distal embolism. However, there was no statistically significant effect for DT on a favorable outcome at third months or mortality with endovascular treatment of MCA M1 occlusions.PMID:33636978 | DOI:10.34172/aim.2021.17

Quality of Life in Patients with Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis: A Study on Physical, Psychological, and Social Status of Patients in Long-term
CONCLUSION: CVST patients experience an acceptable alleviation of the primary physical disabilities, while residual symptoms, mostly in psychologic/mental domains, impair their QOL.PMID:33588563 | DOI:10.34172/aim.2021.03

Assessment of the quality of anticoagulation management with warfarin in a tertiary care center.
CONCLUSION: Reflecting the real-life experience of anticoagulation control, our patients spend less than half the TTR within the INR. The low target TTR mandates the need to improve service quality and control factors affecting the TTR, including hemoglobin levels and regular visits for patients with VTE. Acute myocardial infarction after switching from warfarin to dabigatran.
We present a case of an acute MI and cardiac arrest in a patient with chronic AF who had been recently switched from warfarin to dabigatran. Urgent coronary angiography, at St. Michael's hospital (Toronto, Canada), revealed evidence of thromboembolism to the distal posterior descending artery. The patient was treated medically and switched back from dabigatran to warfarin. He did well and was discharged after an uneventful stay in the coronary care unit. PMID: 25830002 [PubMed]
