Genetic liability to insomnia in relation to cardiovascular diseases: a Mendelian randomisation study
AbstractThe present study aimed to determine the associations between insomnia and cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) using Mendelian randomisation (MR) analysis. As instrumental variables, we used 208 independent single-nucleotide polymorphisms associated with insomnia at the genome-wide significance threshold in a meta-analysis of genome-wide association studies in the UK Biobank and 23andMe including a total of 397 959 self-reported insomnia cases and 933 057 non-cases.
