Relationship Between ST-Segment Recovery and Clinical Outcomes After Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: The HORIZONS-AMI ECG Substudy Report Myocardial Infarction
Conclusions— In this large international study, absent STR 60 minutes after primary PCI was present in 1 in 5 patients with ST-segment–elevation myocardial infarction and was a significant independent predictor of major adverse cardiovascular events and target vessel revascularization at 3 years. Clinical Trial Registration— URL: http://www.clinicaltrials.gov. Unique identifier: NCT00433966

Assessment tools for unrecognized myocardial infarction: a cross-sectional analysis of the REasons for geographic and racial differences in stroke population
Conclusions: Despite examining a large number of potential correlates of UMI, the assessment tools did not provide a high level of discrimination. These data suggest defining groups with high prevalence of UMI for targeted screening will be difficult.

Detection of Left Atrial Appendage Thrombus by Cardiac Computed Tomography in Patients With Atrial Fibrillation: A Meta-Analysis Original Articles
Conclusions— Cardiac computed tomography, particularly when delayed imaging is performed, is a reliable alternative to TEE for the detection of LA/LAA thrombi/clot, avoiding the discomfort and risks associated with TEE.

Atrial Fibrillation in Turkey: Epidemiologic Registry (AFTER) study design.
CONCLUSION: General risk profile of patients with AF, frequency of anticoagulation, frequency of effective treatment and risks of bleeding will be evaluated according to the current guidelines. Major adverse events and their independent predictors will be determined. PMID: 23395707 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Thromboembolic risks of recombinant factor VIIa Use in warfarin-associated intracranial hemorrhage: a case¿control study
Background: Recombinant factor VIIa (rFVIIa) may be used for rapid hemostasis in life-threatening hemorrhage. In warfarin-associated intracerebral hemorrhage (wICH), FVIIa use is controversial and may carry significant thromboembolic risks. We compared incidence of baseline thromboembolic risk factors and thromboembolism rates in wICH patients treated with additional rFVIIa to those treated with standard therapy of fresh frozen plasma (FFP) and vitamin K alone. Methods: We identified 45 consecutive wICH patients treated with additional rFVIIa over 5-year period, and 34 consecutive wICH patients treated with standard therap...
