Isosteviol Sodium Protects Against Permanent Cerebral Ischemia Injury in Mice via Inhibition of NF- κB–Mediated Inflammatory and Apoptotic Responses
Isosteviol sodium (STVNa) has been reported to have neuroprotective effects against ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury in rats. Furthermore, recanalization treatments, including thrombolytic therapy, have several limitations. Excessive inflammation and apoptosis contribute to the pathogenesis of ischemic brain damage. Nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NF- κB) is critical to these processes and is associated with cerebral ischemia. Therefore, we studied the potential therapeutic effects and mechanisms of STVNa on permanent cerebral ischemia in mice.

O-035 Risk factors for delayed deterioration after cerebral venous thrombosis: a model to identify patients for early aggressive endovascular therapy
Conclusion We found that decreased mental status, seizure activity, papilledema, number of involved sinuses, sodium level, and platelet level to be the most important factors in predicting deterioration after CVT. This group may represent a subset of patients in who early thrombectomy may be considered. Further prospective trials are needed to confirm this hypothesis. Abstract O-035 Figure 1Odds ratios of clinical deterioration for the predictors of the multivariable logistic regression model. E-082 Aggressive endovascular management of massive dural venous sinus thrombosis in the setting of acute myelogenous leukemia
Conclusion DVST is an uncommon cause of stroke. The appropriate diagnosis is imperative as the treatment for DVS is vastly different from the treatment of arterial stroke. Patients who suffer from DVST have a good prognosis and often achieve complete recovery. This case demonstrates the utility of more invasive endovascular treatments for extreme cases that fail to improve, or worsen, following a trial of conventional care. When thrombolysis and thrombectomy alone were not successful, stenting of an underlying dural sinus stenosis was ultimately required for successful recanalization. Disclosures: D. Leonard: None. A. Cross-Sectional Positive Association of Serum Lipids and Blood Pressure With Serum Sodium Within the Normal Reference Range of 135-145 mmol/L.
CONCLUSIONS: Serum sodium concentration is a cardiovascular risk factor even within the normal reference range. Thus, decreasing sodium to the lower end of the normal range by modification of water and salt intake is a personalizable strategy for decreasing cardiovascular risks.
