Survival and functional outcome following endovascular thrombectomy for anterior circulation acute ischemic stroke caused by large vessel occlusion in Sweden 2017-2019 < em > - < /em > a nationwide, prospective, observational study
CONCLUSIONS: EVT patients from our large real-world national dataset differed from RCT patients in several baseline factors including distribution of vascular occlusion site. However, the overall outcome of EVT in our Swedish cohort appeared to well match the pivotal trial findings.PMID:35044270 | DOI:10.1177/15910199211073019

Dual antiplatelet use in the management of COVID-19 associated acute ischemic stroke reocclusion
CONCLUSION: COVID-19 AIS may be associated with a hypercoagulable state which risks malignant reocclusion complicating MT. We found antithrombotic treatment periprocedural cangrelor with or without argatroban transitioned to oral aspirin with ticagrelor to be a viable method for management of these patients.PMID:35549746 | DOI:10.1177/15910199221097484

Overall cerebral small vessel disease burden is associated with outcome of acute ischemic stroke after mechanical thrombectomy
CONCLUSION: This study identified that the overall CSVD burden was independently associated with the prognosis of patients receiving MT for acute anterior circulation large-vessel occlusion stroke.PMID:36352547 | DOI:10.1177/15910199221138140

Rescue intracranial stenting in acute ischemic stroke (study)
CONCLUSION: Our study suggests that despite the occurrence of postprocedural symptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage in a low proportion of cases, rescue intracranial stenting could be an important alternative treatment after mechanical thrombectomy failure.PMID:37415427 | DOI:10.1177/15910199231171272

Manual thromboaspiration technique as a first approach for endovascular stroke treatment: A single-center experience.
CONCLUSIONS: In our series, the manual thromboaspiration technique has been shown as fast and safe, with good rates of vessel revascularization in 87.3% of patients and neurological outcome <3 mRS in 53.5% of patients. PMID: 27301390 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
