Mechanical thrombectomy in acute ischemic stroke with tandem occlusions: impact of extracranial carotid lesion etiology on endovascular management and outcome
CONCLUSIONS: ECL etiology impacts both EVT approach and clinical outcome in patients with TOs. Patients with CD-related TO achieved higher 3-month functional independence rates than patients with CA-related TOs. Treatment and outcomes of ARUBA-eligible patients with unruptured brain arteriovenous malformations at a single institution.
Conclusions The risk of stroke or death and degree of clinical impairment among treated patients was lower than reported in ARUBA. The authors found no significant difference in outcomes between observed and treated ARUBA-eligible patients at UCSF. Results in ARUBA-eligible patients managed outside that trial led to an entirely different conclusion about AVM intervention, due to the primary role of surgery, judicious surgical selection with established outcome predictors, and technical expertise developed at high-volume AVM centers. Methodological assessment of guidelines for the diagnosis and management of cerebral vasospasm using the AGREE-II tool
CONCLUSIONS: These findings support the idea that improvement of currently existing guidelines is feasible in the following domains: the rigor of guidelines and recommendations development, clinical applicability, editorial independence, and stakeholder involvement.
