Concomitant tricuspid valve repair for mild-moderate tricuspid regurgitation patients undergoing mitral valve surgery? A meta-analysis and meta-regression
J Cardiovasc Surg (Torino). 2023 Jul 24. doi: 10.23736/S0021-9509.23.12760-1. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe development of tricuspid regurgitation (TR) is a common complication of mitral valve disease. Although severe TR is usually operated on at the same time of mitral valve surgery (MVS), controversies remain regarding whether mild to moderate TR patients should be operated. Concomitant tricuspid valve repair with MVS for mild-moderate TR patients. Electronic databases were searched from inception to November 20, 2022 to include any observational or randomized controlled trials (RCT) that compare concomitant tricuspi...

Benchmarking Outcomes of Surgical Aortic Valve Replacement in Patients with Bicuspid Aortic Valves
CONCLUSIONS: In this nationally-representative study, 30-day mortality was similar but risk-adjusted 5-year mortality was significantly lower in bicuspid patients undergoing isolated SAVR compared to tricuspid patients, specifically low-risk and normal left ventricular ejection fraction patients. This analyses provides a much-needed 5-year longitudinal national-level benchmark to better inform the discussion of transcatheter vs SAVR in bicuspid patients.PMID:37454786 | DOI:10.1016/j.athoracsur.2023.06.026

Comparison of different percutaneous revascularisation timing strategies in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation
CONCLUSIONS: In patients with severe aortic stenosis and stable coronary artery disease scheduled for TAVI, performance of PCI after TAVI seems to be associated with improved 2-year clinical outcomes compared with other revascularisation timing strategies. These results need to be confirmed in randomised clinical trials.PMID:37436190 | DOI:10.4244/EIJ-D-23-00186
