Assessment of Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair Using Relay Proximal Scallop: Results of a French Prospective Multicentre Study
CONCLUSION: One year outcomes showed that the Relay proximal scallop stent graft is an acceptable answer to aortic thoracic disease to deal with short proximal landing zones.PMID:37567339 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejvs.2023.08.002

Use of Secondary Iliac Branch Devices after Previous Endovascular Abdominal and Thoraco-Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair < sup > † < /sup >
CONCLUSION: Secondary IBD after EVAR is a safe and effective procedure with high technical success and low complication rates. The technique of choice to revascularise the IIA seems to not affect early and follow up results. Long term durability of IBD repair is acceptable with low rates of IIA re-interventions.PMID:36707020 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejvs.2023.01.033

Prevalence of peripheral arterial disease, abdominal aortic aneurysm, and risk factors in the Hamburg City Health Study: A Cross-Sectional Analysis
CONCLUSION: In this large population-based cohort study of 10,000 subjects from Hamburg, Germany, a strikingly high prevalence of PAD was revealed. Almost 45% suffered from any index disease, while AAA was only diagnosed in 1.3% of males and 0.2% of females. The high prevalence of atherosclerotic disease and associated cardiovascular risk factors underline that it is essential to increase awareness and fuel efforts for secondary prevention.PMID:36634745 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejvs.2023.01.002

Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Physician Modified Endografts for Treatment of Thoraco-Abdominal and Complex Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms
CONCLUSION: Physician modified fenestrated or branched grafts for endovascular aortic repair seems feasible and safe in the short-term follow-up. However, the quality of the available data is low which highlights the need for better and more accurate data regarding this technique.PMID:35483575 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejvs.2022.04.015

Athero-occlusive Disease Appears to be Associated with Slower Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Growth: An Exploratory Analysis of the TEDY Trial
CONCLUSION: In an exploratory analysis of a selective cohort from the TEDY trial, AOD was associated with slower AAA growth. Validation of these findings in other cohorts is needed.PMID:35277322 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejvs.2021.12.038

Effectiveness of Proximal Landing Zones 0, 1, and 2 Hybrid Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair: A Single Centre 12 Year Experience
CONCLUSION: Satisfactory early and long term results of hybrid arch repair at zones 0, 1, and 2 were achieved. To avoid complications and aortic events, the treatment strategy of hybrid arch repair for aortic arch pathologies should be tailored using accurate pre-operative assessment of the ascending aorta and the aortic arch.PMID:34916108 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejvs.2021.10.043

Midterm Outcomes of an Adjustable Puncture Device for In Situ Fenestration During Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair
CONCLUSION: In this largest mechanical based ISF study to date, an adjustable puncture device was shown to facilitate the procedure of ISF during endovascular repair of aortic diseases involving the aortic arch, with high success. The midterm outcome demonstrates the efficacy and safety of the device in assisting with preservation of aortic arch branches.PMID:34750032 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejvs.2021.09.028

The Potential Benefits and Costs of an Intensified Approach to Low Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol Lowering in People with Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm
CONCLUSION: People with a small asymptomatic AAA are at high risk of MVE and PVE. This study provides evidence of the possible benefits and allowable expense for a cost effective intensive LDL-C lowering programme in this population.PMID:34507892 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejvs.2021.06.031
