Platelet Reactivity and Early Outcomes after Transfemoral Aortic Valve Implantation.
Abstract Beyond thromboembolic events, peri-procedural bleeding remains one of the most frequent complications after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). The majority of TAVI patients receive a dual anti-platelet treatment (DAPT) regimen. This analysis from the EVERY-TAVI register database aimed to analyse whether the level of on-treatment adenosine diphosphate-induced platelet reactivity predicts early outcomes at 30 days after TAVI. A total of 146 consecutive TAVI patients on DAPT who underwent platelet function testing with the Multiplate analyser were included here. Definition of bleeding events was...

Contemporary antiplatelet treatment in acute coronary syndrome patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention: One-year outcomes from the GReek AntiPlatelet Registry (GRAPE).
CONCLUSIONS: In real-word ACS/PCI patients, prasugrel offered better antiischemic protection than clopidogrel, while use of both novel agents is accompanied by more frequent bleeding events. Impact of bridging with perioperative low-molecular-weight heparin on cardiac and bleeding outcomes of stented patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery.
In conclusion, LMWH bridging in patients with coronary stents undergoing surgery is a common and possibly harmful practice, resulting in worse ischaemic outcomes at 30 days, and a significant risk of bleeding. PMID: 26017898 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Perioperative management of oral antiplatelet therapy and clinical outcomes in coronary stent patients undergoing surgery. Results of a multicentre registry.
In conclusion antiplatelet discontinuation increases the 30-day risk of MACE, in patients with coronary stents undergoing cardiac and non-cardiac surgery, while not offering significant protection from BARC≥ 2 bleeding. PMID: 25274620 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
