Symptomatic Cerebral Air Embolism after Central Venous Catheter Removal. (P1.034)
CONCLUSIONS: Central air embolism is a rare complication of central venous catheter removal or insertion. GRE or DWI is useful for diagnosis of cerebral air embolism. Neuroimaging findings of post-thrombolysis cerebral hemorrhage in acute ischemic stroke (P6.238)
Conclusion: The most common pattern of hemorrhage observed after IV-tPA in acute ischemic stroke was petechial hemorrhagic transformation of ischemic infarct, which is most suggestive of bleeding due to blood-brain breakdown at the site of infarction. Unusual patterns of hemorrhage (such as multiplicity and remote ICH) are rare.
