Comparison of the risks of hospitalisation for cardiovascular events in patients with rheumatoid arthritis treated with tocilizumab and etanercept.
CONCLUSIONS: RA patients with TCZ do not have a medium-term excess of CV risk in patients compared with ETN. PMID: 29303702 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Prevalence and clinical significance of electrocardiographic signs of atrial myopathy in rheumatoid arthritis: results from the EDRA study
CONCLUSIONS: Electrocardiographic markers of atrial myopathy are independently associated with RA. Further studies with larger sample size and longer follow-up are needed to determine whether the increased prevalence of atrial myopathy contributes to the increased risk of atrial fibrillation and stroke in this group.PMID:36622121 | DOI:10.55563/clinexprheumatol/d9l4lt

A polyarticular onset and diabetes could be the main predictors of cardiovascular events in psoriatic arthritis.
CONCLUSIONS: Traditional CV risk factors as well as factors related to the inflammatory nature of the disease were the main predictors of CV complications in this PsA population. PMID: 26841682 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Cardiovascular events and change in cholesterol levels in patients with rheumatoid arthritis treated with tocilizumab: data from the REGATE Registry.
CONCLUSIONS: In current practice, cardiovascular events occurring under TCZ treatment is in the range of what is expected in RA patients despite a global increase in cholesterol levels. PMID: 32896267 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Cardiovascular comorbidities in psoriatic arthritis: epidemiology and risk factors in two different European populations
CONCLUSIONS: The prevalence of AH, T2D and CV diseases were higher in Italian patients rather than Belgians. Moreover, among patients with PsA, the risk of AH was higher in the Italian cohort compared to the Belgian cohort. These results suggest that further research is needed to evaluate potential extrinsic factors (geography and sociocultural aspects) that may contribute to CV risk.PMID:36826796 | DOI:10.55563/clinexprheumatol/aovika
