Placement of a Catheter into the Transverse Sinus in Monitoring Intracranial Lesions: A Technical Note
This article describes how to take blood samples from the transverse sinus in a high ICP rat model. Also, it compares the blood samples from the transverse sinus and femoral artery/vein through blood gas analysis and neuronal cell staining. The findings may be of significance to the monitoring of the oxygen and blood flow of intracranial lesions. Current state and guidance on arterial spin labeling perfusion MRI in clinical neuroimaging
This article focuses on clinical applications of arterial spin labeling (ASL) and is part of a wider effort from the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) Perfusion Study Group to update and expand on the recommendations provided in the 2015 ASL consensus paper. Although the 2015 consensus paper provided general guidelines for clinical applications of ASL MRI, there was a lack of guidance on disease-specific parameters. Since that time, the clinical availability and clinical demand for ASL MRI has increased. This position paper provides guidance on using ASL in specific clinical scenarios, includ...

Implementation of Automated Pipeline for Resting-State fMRI Analysis with PACS Integration
AbstractIn recent years, the quantity and complexity of medical imaging acquisition and processing have increased tremendously. The explosion in volume and need for advanced imaging analysis have led to the creation of numerous software programs, which have begun to be incorporated into clinical practice for indications such as automated stroke assessment, brain tumor perfusion processing, and hippocampal volume analysis. Despite these advances, there remains a need for specialized, custom-built software for advanced algorithms and new areas of research that is not widely available or adequately integrated in these “out-...

Acute ischemic stroke secondary to ventriculoperitoneal shunt dysfunction in a child with Moyamoya syndrome
CONCLUSION: Children who receive RT for brain tumor, particularly if the circle of Willis region is involved, require close surveillance for the development of vasculopathy and consequent stroke. This surveillance must be even tighter if the patient has been treated with ventricular shunt for the possible synergistic interaction between the two causes on reducing cerebral perfusion and increasing the risk of acute ischemic events.PMID:35928308 | PMC:PMC9345112 | DOI:10.25259/SNI_434_2022
