Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTComplementary and alternative medicine (CAM) is widespread in oncology patients with a user rate of approximately 40-50%. An accompanying supportive effect can arise through improved adherence, especially in long-term (e.g. endocrine) therapies through active patient involvement. When assessing the evidence on frequently requested methods, there is no high-quality evidence that homeopathy or anthroposophy leads to an improved prognosis. Mistletoe therapy can be considered to improve the quality of life, although the data quality is weak....

Use of complementary and alternative medicine by pediatric oncology patients during palliative care
Conclusions The study provides information about usage of CAM in children suffering from cancer during the palliative phase of the disease. Further research is required to investigate benefits, potential adverse effects, and the potential efficacy of CAM in this population.

Importance of complementary medicine approaches for patients with prostate cancer.
CONCLUSION: The results show that prostate cancer patients use a range of CM and have a need for information about CM. Prostate cancer patients are in a special situation because of a regular feedback on the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) value. Clinical Evaluation of Viscum album Mother Tincture as an Antihypertensive: A Pilot Study
Viscum album, an infrequently used antihypertensive in homeopathy, is evaluated by 1-group pretest–posttest model in primary hypertension. The drug was administered for 12 weeks at a dosage of 10 drops 3 times a day. Using paired t test, a significant drop in blood pressure (P < .0001) and serum triglyceride (P < .0001) was observed in the treatment group. This dual effect of Viscum album shows promise in optimizing therapy for primary hypertension.
