IJERPH, Vol. 19, Pages 15350: Rehabilitation of Post-COVID-19 Musculoskeletal Sequelae in Geriatric Patients: A Case Series Study

Disparities in the allocation of inpatient physical and occupational therapy services for patients with COVID ‐19
Conclusions and RelevanceIn a cohort of patients hospitalized for COVID-19 across a multicenter healthcare system, we found that referral rates and delivery of physical therapy  and/or occupational therapy sessions were significantly reduced for patients of Hispanic identity compared with patients of non-Hispanic, Caucasian identity after adjustment for potential confounding by available demographic and illness severity variables.

Effects of the Change in Activity Participation During the COVID-19 Pandemic on Children's Mental Health
CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: Pandemic-related restrictions on children's participation were unfavorably related to their mental health. Strategies and services that promote children's involvement in daily activities are needed to decrease the risk of mental health problems during the COVID-19 pandemic. Patient Characteristics and Acute PT and OT Utilization During the Initial Surge of COVID-19: A Retrospective Observational Study
CONCLUSIONS: Patients acutely ill with COVID-19 hospitalized with the virus during the first 6 weeks of the pandemic remained in the intensive care unit and hospital longer than their counterparts without COVID-19 and had a delay in initiation of PT and OT intervention. PT and OT are important members of the care team for patients with the novel coronavirus.
