Adverse reactions after intravascular iodinated contrast media administration and their management
Vasa. 2024 Apr 23. doi: 10.1024/0301-1526/a001122. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACT Endovascular interventions and diagnostic examinations using iodinated contrast media (ICM) are standard of care in current vascular medicine. Although ICM use is generally considered safe, it may be associated with adverse reactions, vary from minor disturbances to rare, but severe life-threatening complications. This position paper of European Society of Vascular Medicine integrates current knowledge and summarizes the key information related to the use of intravascular ICM, serving as recommendation on prevention and management of acute, l...

Influenza vaccination coverage and determinants of vaccination in peripheral arterial disease patients
Conclusions: This study highlights the low adherence to influenza vaccination in the PAD population of 2 university hospital centers. Vaccination is often related to age, and there is a need for adapted information regarding influenza consequences on cardiovascular disease overall, particularly on PAD. Addressing common information and advice about vaccination will be a challenge.PMID:38629325 | DOI:10.1024/0301-1526/a001120 (Source: VASA. Zeitschrift fur Gefasskrankheiten. A systematic review of the neutrophil to lymphocyte and platelet to lymphocyte ratios in patients with lower extremity arterial disease
Conclusions: The studies included in this review support the role of elevated NLR and PLR as key components influencing the clinical outcomes, severity, and success of treatment in patients with LEAD. The use of these easily accessible, cost effective and routinely available markers is supported by the present review.PMID:38563057 | DOI:10.1024/0301-1526/a001117 (Source: VASA.
