Discretionary foods and drinks in Norwegian children and adolescents' diet: Data from the national dietary survey Ungkost 3
CONCLUSIONS: Almost all 4th and 8th graders in Norway consumed discretionary foods and drinks and these products contributed to a substantial proportion of the total energy intake and limited amounts of nutrients. Those children and adolescents consuming the least discretionary foods and drinks had a higher intake of whole grains, fish and seafood, indicating healthier and more sustainable food habits.PMID:37721223 | DOI:10.1017/S1368980023001982

In vitro and Quantitative and Structure Activity Relationship (QSAR) evaluation of the antifungal activity of terpenoid constituents of essential oils against Alternaria alternata and Fusarium oxysporum
CONCLUSION: Terpenoids exhibit relevant antifungal activities that should be incorporated into the study of medicinal chemistry. Inclusion of in silico assays in the in vitro evaluation is a valuable tool in the search for and rational design of terpene derivatives as new potential antifungal agents.PMID:37721910 | DOI:10.7705/biomedica.6883

Tinea capitis outbreak and other superficial mycosis in an urban community of Medell ín
Conclusion. Tinea capitis was the most common clinical form, and M. canis was the most frequently isolated species. The use of steroids as the first and only option for empiric treatment was worth of notice. The findings of this study point out the importance of microbiological diagnosis in choosing the best treatment for the patients.PMID:37721904 | DOI:10.7705/biomedica.6900
