Transient left bundle branch block associated with very high coronary artery calcium: a case report
We present a case of very high CAC in a 64-year-old woman with hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and hyperlipidemia presenting with dyspnea. Initial electrocardiogram (ECG) demonstrated normal conduction with a heart rate of 76 beats/min, but new T-wave inversions in V1-V4 and a high-sensitivity troponin-I (hsTnI) value of 6 ng/L (normal < 6 ng/L). Repeat ECG in the emergency department showed normal sinus rhythm (heart rate of 80 beats/min); however, it subsequently demonstrated a left bundle branch block (LBBB) with a repeat hsTnI of 7 ng/L. Stress testing with pharmacologic single-photon emission computerized tomography...

The value of computed tomography for head trauma in patients presenting with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest before emergency percutaneous coronary intervention
CONCLUSION: CT of the head did not result in a diagnosis of intracranial haemorrhage or deferral of PCI but did delay PCI treatment for STEMI in patients presenting with OHCA.PMID:37615827 | DOI:10.1007/s12471-023-01807-x

Cardiogenic shock in adults with congenital heart disease: Insights from the FRENSHOCK registry
CONCLUSIONS: Cardiogenic shock in ACHD patients is rare, accounting for only 0.9% of an unselected cardiogenic shock population. Despite being younger and having fewer co-morbidities, the prognosis of ACHD patients with cardiogenic shock remains severe, and is similar to that of other patients.PMID:37598062 | DOI:10.1016/j.acvd.2023.06.008

Echocardiographic analysis of pulmonary arterial systolic pressure in pulmonary hypertension
CONCLUSIONS: Variability is wide, and agreement is substantial for pulmonary artery systolic pressure. It is recommended to estimate only as screening for pulmonary hypertension.PMID:37562142 | DOI:10.24875/ACM.22000124
