Direct oral anticoagulants versus vitamin K antagonists in patients with atrial fibrillation and cancer a meta-analysis
ConclusionsIn comparison to VKA, DOACs were associated with a significant reduction of the rates of thromboembolic events and major bleeding complications in patients with AF and cancer. Further studies are needed to confirm our results.

Conclusion: DOACs are associated with only a modest reduction in stroke or systemic embolism, major bleeding, and mortality when compared to VKA in CKD patients. Oral anticoagulant use in patients with morbid obesity: A systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Patients with morbid obesity on DOACs had similar risks of stroke/systemic embolism, lower rates of recurrent VTE and major bleeding events compared to those on VKAs. Oral anticoagulation patterns and prognosis in octogenarian patients with atrial fibrillation
In conclusion, in this cohort of post-discharge octogenarian patients with AF, the risk for all-cause death was similar in NOAC versus VKA users, after adjustment for baseline covariates. No differences in stroke and major bleeding events among these treatment groups were revealed.Graphic abstract

The new oral anticoagulants (NOACs) dabigatran etexilate, rivaroxaban, and apixaban have been extensively studied for prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolic disease and for stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation.
