Longitudinal Dynamics of a Blood Transcriptomic Signature of Tuberculosis
Conclusions Positive RISK11 signature status is often transient, possibly due to intercurrent viral infection, highlighting potentially important challenges for implementation of these biomarkers as new tools for TB control. Effects of Curcuma longa L., Eucommia ulmoides Oliv. and Gynostemma pentaphyllum (Thunb.) Makino on Cytokine Production in Stimulated Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells in Patients with Tuberculosis
CONCLUSION: These results show that G pentaphyllum (Thunb.) Makino might enhance cell immunity since it increased the production of IL-12 and TNF-α with dose effect.PMID:34559685

Assessing Pretomanid for Tuberculosis (APT), a Randomized Phase 2 Trial of Pretomanid-containing Regimens for Drug-sensitive TB: 12-Week Results
CONCLUSIONS: Pretomanid enhanced the microbiologic activity of rifamycin-pyrazinamide containing regimens. Efficacy and hepatic adverse events appeared highest with the pretomanid and rifabutin-containing regimen. Whether this is due to higher pretomanid concentrations merits exploration. Mycobacterial Lung Disease Complicating HIV Infection
Semin Respir Crit Care Med 2016; 37: 230-242DOI: 10.1055/s-0036-1572559Mycobacterial infections have caused enormous morbidity and mortality in people living with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. Of these, the most devastating has been tuberculosis (TB), the leading cause of death among HIV-positive persons globally. TB has killed more people living with HIV than any other infection. Diagnosis of latent TB infection (LTBI) is critical as treatment can prevent emergence of TB disease. Bacteriologic confirmation of TB disease should be sought whenever possible as well as drug susceptibility testing. When detecte...
