Retrospective Analysis of the Clinical Features and Pregnancy Outcomes in 124 Pregnant Patients with Non-Obstetric Acute Abdomen
CONCLUSION: Non-obstetric AAD during pregnancy manifests clinically as nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, elevated body temperature, and leukocytes, all of which have pregnancy outcomes. Pregnant patients with non-obstetric AAD should be diagnosed according to their clinical manifestations, physical examinations, and relevant imaging examinations, and appropriate treatment modalities should be selected to achieve a better pregnancy outcome and ensure the safety of the mother and baby during the clinical diagnosis and treatment process. This study underscores the need for prompt and accurate diagnosis in pregnant patients...

Ferritinophagy-mediated iron competition in RUTIs: Tug-of-war between UPEC and host
Biomed Pharmacother. 2023 May 9;163:114859. doi: 10.1016/j.biopha.2023.114859. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTUropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) is the main pathogen of recurrent urinary tract infections (RUTIs). Urinary tract infection is a complicated interaction between UPEC and the host. During infection, UPEC can evade the host's immune response and retain in bladder epithelial cells, which requires adequate nutritional support. Iron is the first necessary trace element in life and a key nutritional factor, making it an important part of the competition between UPEC and the host. On the one hand, UPEC grabs iron to ...

Effects of Catheter Tracking Management on Urinary Tract Function and Infection Rates in Patients With Spinal Cord Injury
CONCLUSIONS: For patients with SCIs, catheter follow-up management can be helpful in restoring the function of the bladder and urinary tract, can improve patients' QoL, and reduce their rate of UTIs. Clinically, medical practitioners should select antibiotics reasonably according to a bacterial culture and drug-sensitivity test.PMID:36634314
