A Randomized Controlled Trial of Treatment Distribution and Biofeedback Effects on Speech Production in School-Age Children With Apraxia of Speech
CONCLUSIONS: When the number of treatment hours is fixed, an intensive schedule of Speech Motor Chaining facilitated greater improvement than a distributed schedule. Ultrasound biofeedback initially accelerated learning, but the benefits may dissipate as treatment continues or after it ends.PMID:37611182 | DOI:10.1044/2023_JSLHR-22-00622

Assessing importance of SARS-CoV2 infection as cause of in utero fetal death: regional retrospective cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: At the height of the SARS-CoV2 pandemic, more than half of the causes of fetal death in the Paris area were labeled placental or undetermined origin based on postmortem findings, but our study showed that, of these causes, 2.8% were due to placental SARS-CoV2 infection with a specific pattern of histological involvement. This study highlights the need for SARS-CoV2 screening in stillbirth assessment. The impact of vaccination coverage remains to be established. This article is protected by copyright. Print 2023 Jun 4.ABSTRACTThe use of ultrasound became an essential tool in the everyday practice of anesthesiology and intensive care as an indispensable prerequisite for the precise guidance of invasive procedures and also as a point-of-care diagnostic method. Despite the limitations of imaging the lung and thoracic structures, the COVID-19 pandemic and recent advances made this technology an evolving field. The intensive therapy applies these methods with important experience for differential diagnosis and assessment of disease severity or prognosis. Min...
