Long-Term Trends in The 5-Year Risk of Recurrent Stroke over A Half Century in A Japanese Community: The Hisayama Study
CONCLUSIONS: In the Japanese community, the risk of recurrent stroke decreased mainly from the 1960s to 1990s, but there was no apparent decrease in recent years.PMID:35185108 | DOI:10.5551/jat.63344

Mild Hypertensive Retinopathy and Risk of Cardiovascular Disease: The Suita Study
CONCLUSION: Mild hypertensive retinopathy was positively associated with CVD and stroke risk in the urban Japanese population. Especially, generalized arteriolar narrowing and enhanced arteriolar wall reflex were positively associated with CVD risk. These findings suggested that retinal photography could be helpful for cardiovascular risk stratification in the primary cardiovascular prevention.PMID:35034920 | DOI:10.5551/jat.63317

RNF213 p.R4810K Variant Carriers with Intracranial Arterial Stenosis Have a Low Atherosclerotic Burden
CONCLUSIONS: RNF213 p.R4810K variant carriers have a lower cumulative atherosclerotic burden than non-carriers among patients with intracranial arterial stenosis. New therapeutic approaches beyond the standard management of atherosclerotic risk factors are required to prevent the development of intracranial arterial stenosis.PMID:34955493 | DOI:10.5551/jat.63379
