Boston Medical Center has been particularly affected due to the underserved patient population we care for and the increased risk of ischemic stroke in patients with COVID-19 infection.

Stroke and COVID19: not only a large-vessel disease
Recent evidence has underlined the association between large-vessel stroke and COVID-19, probably due to a proinflammatory and prothrombotic microenvironment induced by SARS-CoV-2. Here, we report the case of a young fit woman affected by COVID-19 without any flu-like symptom, who suffered from speech disorder and left hemiparesis. Brain magnetic resonance evidenced two small acute brain infarctions in right perirolandic cortex without signs of previous ischemic lesions and hemorrhagic infarction.

Universal laboratory testing for SARS-CoV-2 in hyperacute stroke during the COVID-19 pandemic
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic necessitates organizational and structural adjustments to local health care systems to protect medical professionals and patients from infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) (1). Particularly older individuals and those with cardiovascular comorbidities are thought to be at increased risk of COVID-19 (2). Consequently, stroke patients can be considered an at-risk population and might benefit from infection control screens at hospital entry (3,4).

During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic the use of health care systems changed suddenly. Hospitals were overwhelmed as a result of the staggering COVID-19 patient numbers1 and/or modified their daily routine due to prophylactic allocation of resources.2 Public lockdowns with strict containment recommendations for the community have been announced around the world.3 Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and dispatch centers were confronted with increasing numbers of patients/calls and reorganization of the dispatch system including Code Stroke patient referral.

Unusual Pattern of Arterial Macrothrombosis Causing Stroke in a Young Adult Recovered from COVID-19
Coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) pandemic continues to grow all over the world. Neurological manifestations related to COVID-19, including acute ischemic Stroke (AIS), have been reported in recent studies. In most of these, the patients are older, have multiple co-morbidities as risk factors for AIS and have developed a severe respiratory illness. Herein, we report a 36-year-old man with no significant past medical history who recently recovered from a mild COVID-19 infection and presented with unusual pattern of arterial macrothrombosis causing AIS.

Coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) related acute stroke causing Transient Global Amnesia
Transient global amnesia (TGA) presents as an acute anterograde amnesia that generally resolves within 24 hrs.1 Werner et al. had noted increasing TGA since severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) outbreak in their hospital in Germany and reported 16 patients with TGA between February 1st and May 15th 2020 compared to their 10-year average of 9.72 In our series we noted 2 patients who presented with TGA secondary to acute hippocampal stroke in COVID-19 positive patients.
