Print 2022 Jun 12.ABSTRACTPerinatal stroke encompasses a heterogenous group of neurological syndromes due to cerebrovascular diseases, leading to chronic neurological sequelae in most of the cases. Based on pathophysiology, strokes are classified as perinatal arterial ischemic stroke, cerebral sinovenous thrombosis and perinatal haemorrhagic stroke. If not recognized in the neonatal period, the condition usually presents with focal asymmetry between 4-8 months of age and is referred to as presumed perinatal stroke. Nowadays, the increased utilization of m...

A h áromér-betegség kezelése a FAME-3 vizsgálat eredményeinek tükrében

Print 2022 Jun 26.ABSTRACTPrevious randomized clinical studies have shown the superiority of coronary artery bypass grafting over percutaneous coronary intervention in the treatment of severe multivessel disease mainly because of a reduced need for repeat revascularization but, in some, a mortality benefit and reduced rate of myocardial infarction were shown among those undergoing surgery. The late breaker multicentric, randomized FAME (Fractional Flow Reserve Versus Angiography in Multivessel Evaluation)-3 study, involving 1500 patients, sought to dete...

“Decide and run!” The role of prehospital care providers in reducing time loss for patients with stroke diagnosis
CONCLUSION: We found that the on-scene time is longer for physician units than for non-physician units. We concluded that motor or sensory aphasia does not affect the therapy, it is just one of the symptoms that can increase the likelihood of stroke diagnosis, therefore prolonging time for assessing aphasia in the field should be avoided. Moreover, it is recommended to make care providers aware of this during training sessions. Improvements are required in non-physician units to reduce the time consumed by blood glucose measurement, as it has been shown that within physician units this test does not appear to be a delay-ca...
